SARAH KENDALL (AUSTRALIAN) |
|
“TIME OUT COMEDY AWARD NOMINEE 2006” “PERRIER AWARD NOMINEE 2004”
2007 sees Sarah heading off on a European Tour of her new show 'Attention Seeker'.
In 2004, Sarah returned from a sell-out run at the Melbourne Comedy Festival, performed for a week at the Soho Theatre and then headed to the Edinburgh Festival. She returned with a Perrier Award Nomination for her highly acclaimed show. She followed this with appearances at the Brighton Comedy Festival and a performance at the Gielgud Theatre in the West End.
This show was the fourth solo show that Sarah had taken to Edinburgh. In 2003, she was one of only five acts selected by NBC to perform their Edinburgh Nights season in New York. In 2002, Sarah was the only stand-up performer to win the Festival's prestigious Herald Angel Award.
Such success typifies Sarah's success on the International circuit. She has performed at the Hong Kong Fringe, the Adelaide Fringe, three times at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, at the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal, at the Berlin and Stavanger Comedy Festivals, and in Los Angeles, Holland, South Africa, Singapore, New York and Belgium.
Having eschewed TV and radio appearances for years, Sarah has recently accepted guest appearances on The Comic Side of Seven Days (BBC 3) The World Stands Up (Paramount/ Comedy Central) The Glasshouse (ABCTV) Edinburgh and Beyond (Paramount) Four at the Store (Radio 4) and Parson's and Naylor's Pull Out Sections (Radio 2). Sarah is currently developing a feature film for Big Talk Productions for Film 4.

STEVE DAY (UK) |
|
Steve Day is a truly unique comedian - warm, witty and engaging whilst dealing with the dilemmas of being a deaf man in a hearing world.
He has become a familiar voice on BBC Radio 4, contributing regular to 'You and Yours', featuring in a half-hour special of 'No Triumph, No Tragedy' and starring alongside Caroline Quentin and Patricia Routledge in 'The Sound Barrier'.
Steve was also a staff writer on Radio 2's long-running 'The News Huddlines' and has appeared on numerous TV shows, most notable Channel 4's 'Natural Born Talent' and Sky's 'Abnormally Funny People'. He is currently working on a sitcom, and early treatments for an adaptation of his stage show 'A Night At The Pictures' have met with enthusiasm and excitement.
In 2005 Steve went on his first national tour of arts centres and theatres, with an updated version of his Edinburgh Fringe show 'Deaf In The Afternoon'. This tour was so successful that it went on the road again later in the same year, in total playing to over 30 venues around the UK, Denmark, Ireland and Italy. In 2006 Steve took his latest show 'A Night At The Pictures' on the road for a mini-tour, playing 10 dates around the UK to both audience and critical acclaim.
